Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level-1 Network Engineer to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and monitoring of network infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with the implementation of network projects. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals looking to start their career in network engineering, with opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor Network Performance: Responsible for initial steps of customer query or complaint , Regularly monitor network systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and other critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide first-level support for network-related issues, including diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, equipment failures, and performance degradation. Frequently visit to the client side. Coordination with Field Engineers to resolve the field complaint with in TAT
  • Incident Management: Respond to network alarms, incidents, and service requests, ensuring timely resolution or escalation to senior engineers as needed. Compliance of SLA/KPI of fiber network

Documentation:

Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change logs.

Network Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware updates, patch management, and hardware upgrades under the guidance of senior engineers.

Security Compliance:

Assist in implementing and monitoring network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

Assist in Deployments:

Support the deployment of new network hardware and technologies, including cabling, rack mounting, and equipment installation.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other IT team members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related problems.

Learning & Development:

Stay updated with new network technologies, certifications, and best practices to enhance personal and team knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience is also acceptable.
  • Certifications:

Preferred certifications include CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or similar.

  • Technical Skills:

Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, sub netting, VLANs, and routing protocols.

Familiarity with network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Cacti Nagios) is a plus.

Understanding of network security principles (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).

Soft Skills:

      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

        • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a help desk or technical support role.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other networking equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and install networking equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or on-call shifts if needed.
